If it works out in Boston, I CAN see more teams trying it in an attempt to trade some guys. Those enigmatic AAA guys who just never seem to break through - bring 'em up to the bigs, pitch 'em every 6 days and hope something good happens. The other problem with a 6 man rotation is it takes away either a bullpen player or bench player. Granted, in the case of the Red Sox, there's Tim Wakefield who can pitch in any role - but he's obviously a special case. Exactly. I remember when the Yanks were going to try 6 guys. But, as of now, the Sox do have 6 quality starters. I think it's a win-win for them. They can give someone an extra rest once in a while or just keep going with the 6. Like I said, I can't see this becoming a wave of the future because not too many teams will have 6 quality, healthy arms, you know? Totally agree about the AROD thing.
