By Gary Armida, Owner and Executive Editor
It gives me great pleasure to introduce a new column to the fullcountpitch.com family. The column, The Crafty Veteran, will be written by my Father, Gary Armida, Sr. He will check in from time to time with his thoughts about the game of baseball.
The Crafty Veteran, as he is known in the FCP office (thus the name of the column) brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the FCP site. He brings over 50 years of baseball experience as a player, coach, fantasy league commish (our league started 24 years ago), observer, fan, and most recently, part-time scout for the Atlanta Braves.
I know it’s not the same as Griffey Sr. and Jr. homering in the same game, but I am thrilled that my Father will share his thoughts from time to time on this site.

Welcome aboard, Sr.! Looking forward to your posts…
Got a clever name for your byline yet?

Thank you, Pete, I think I’ll just stick with The Crafty Veteran and just let it flow from there.
I also want to thank my son for giving me a spot on the FCP roster.

Great news about your Dad. I know alot about how baseball brings fathers and sons together. Billy Jr. surprised me this season by suggesting we go to one last game at the Stadium together. We’re going in July to a day game no less. Its kind of like closing one chapter and getting ready to start a new one next year. Sorry for the length, but this is a subject that gets me right in the heart. Fathers and sons and Baseball- there’s nothing else like it Good luck Sr. looking forward to your insights!

Mr. Campione–Never apologize for length. The longer, the better in my eyes. That’s great about going to the Stadium one final time. That place holds a ton of memories for me and my Dad too.
I know that my Father and I would’ve had a great relationship without baseball, but it is something that we can connect with at any time.
Thanks for reading and commenting here. Jr. is doing you proud here, isn’t he?

Yes Gary he really is making me proud - something he’s been doing all his life. The one thing he left out of his scrapper column is that he always played that way right from the first day of CYO baseball. I think his love of Andy Fox is that he’s looking in a mirror. (of course he had MUCH more sucess than Andy).
