Tigers agree to terms with Adam Everett
DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers today announced the club has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with shortstop Adam Everett.
Everett saw action in 118 games for the Tigers during the 2009 season, hitting .238 (82×345) with 21 doubles, three home runs and 44 RBI.
“Adam is one of the top defensive shortstops in the game and we are excited to have him back with the club for the 2010 season,” Tigers President, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager David Dombrowski said.
A veteran of nine seasons at the major league level, Everett has compiled a .976 fielding percentage at shortstop during his career. A first-round selection by the Boston Red Sox in 1998, he has hit .245 (640×2617) in 815 games at the major league level.
