Blue Jays agree to terms with Marcum
The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have agreed to terms with RHP SHAUN MARCUM on a contract for the 2010 season.
MARCUM, 28, agreed to terms on an $850,000 US contract for the 2010 season. The 6-0, 197 lb. right hander spent 2009 recovering from “Tommy John” surgery, making five rehab starts going 0-2 with a 2.30 ERA. The Kansas City, Missouri native has posted a 24-17 record with a 3.95 ERA at the major league level in 89 career games, including 64 starts.
The Blue Jays have five arbitration eligible players remaining, who have yet to agree to terms for the 2010 season; RHP Jason Frasor, RHP Shawn Camp, RHP Casey Janssen, RHP Jeremy Accardo and LHP Brian Tallet.
